Drug decriminalization changes nothing. Taxpayers will fund even more addictive drugs from pharmaceutical companies, sold by users, adding to harm. More treatments and recovery pathways are needed. Without those, research confirms adding to the drug supply will worsen our crisis, says Dr. Julian Somers.
The Times of London Newspaper interviewed some local BC residents about this radical change in law.
“Goetz, who lost a son-in-law to a drug overdose, said the new laws fail to offer addicts a way into treatment. He said: “I’m just not seeing the support for those who want to make a change. A plan for recovery is missing.”
